Pablo's Picks from the St. Louis Auto Show

While luxury crossovers aren’t exactly the first choice for sixteen-year olds, Pablo was duly impressed by the Lincoln MKX which was wearing a sparkling, metallic black coat.

Pablo takes a break from the show to check out a two-wheeler and contemplate his choices of favorite rides from the 2010 auto show.

The new Camaro looks great in any color, including Pablo’s favorite, Imperial Blue Metallic... but the bright ‘Rally Yellow’ ones always command our attention.  (Make mine black with white rally stripes please.)

What 16 year old kid ‘back in the day’ didn’t dream of owning a new Camaro? (Or Mustang, Cuda or challenger... the list goes on.) Pablo has been eyeing up the 5th generation Camaro ever since the Zeta platform based concept model was unveiled four years ago. The long-anticipated return of the Camaro nameplate was far too long in coming for Camaro fans, but their anticipation was finally rewarded when production models hit the showroom floors in the spring of 2009.

For all but devoted bow-tie fans, choosing between the current offerings of Camaro, Challenger and Mustang, is a daunting task indeed. While many may argue the performance stats of the ‘once big 3’ pony car candidates, those of us who chose based primarily on appearance, will have a tough time.  All three (in my mind and Pablo’s) have absolutely alluring bodies. Being totally impartial (I guess it's my Swiss ancestry) to Chrysler, Ford and GM (notice I placed them in alphabetical order), I wouldn’t kick any of them out of my garage. Being the newest of the three, might give Camaro an edge, because those of us who are wowed by the latest styling exercises to hit the road, are often influenced, by some degree, to the latest visual temptations. That said, Pablo and I are in complete agreement that the roof line of the Camaro, which perhaps best imitates the original 1967 car... the hunkered down, road hugging style... and best of all, the intimidating, angular face, which looks as if it’s ready to gobble up anything or anyone who gets in its way– is what makes the Camaro our favorite of the 2010 pony cars.

Forget it Pablo. There’s way too many security cameras in this place. Besides, those rims wouldn’t fit the Mustang anyway.
